Common Questions
We’ll start with a brief, complimentary consultation to talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re looking for, and whether we might be a good fit. If you decide to move forward, we’ll schedule your first session from there.
Therapy is collaborative and shaped around you. Sessions give us space to understand what you’re experiencing, explore patterns and challenges, and find meaningful ways to move forward. There is no one-size-fits-all approach—our work will reflect your individual needs, goals, and experiences.
Most clients begin with weekly 50-minute sessions, which allows us to build consistency and momentum in our work. Over time, we can adjust the frequency based on your needs and goals.
Sessions are offered virtually through a secure telehealth platform, allowing you to meet from a private and comfortable space that works for you.
I provide telehealth therapy to clients located in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, where I am licensed to practice.
Present Within is primarily a private-pay practice, and I also participate with select insurance plans. We can discuss your coverage and available options before you begin so you know what to expect.
Fees vary depending on the service and how you choose to use your insurance benefits. Private-pay rates and payment options can be discussed during your complimentary consultation, before scheduling your first session.
Yes. Your privacy is an important part of therapy, and what you share is kept confidential in accordance with professional and legal requirements. There are limited exceptions to confidentiality, which we’ll review together when we begin.
Not at all. Therapy can be valuable during difficult periods, but it can also be a space for greater self-understanding, navigating relationships and transitions, recognizing patterns, and creating a life that feels more meaningful and aligned with who you are.
Present Within is an outpatient therapy practice and does not provide emergency or crisis services. If you are experiencing an immediate mental health emergency or are concerned about your safety, please seek immediate emergency or crisis support in your area.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want from therapy before reaching out. A consultation gives you an opportunity to talk about what’s been going on, ask questions, and get a sense of whether therapy—and working together—feels like the right next step.
Absolutely. Pets are always welcome to join you for virtual sessions—whether they’re a source of comfort, a frequent visitor to the screen, or simply convinced that your therapy hour is actually about them.
